CarbTrack
Healthcare Mobile App
Project Overview
CarbTrack is a comprehensive diabetes management application that helps users track carbohydrate intake, monitor glucose levels, and gain insights into how diet affects their health. This honours project was developed to address the challenges diabetic patients face in managing their condition effectively.
The app features an extensive food database, personalised insights, and data visualisation tools to help users make informed decisions about their diet and medication.
My Role
As the sole developer of CarbTrack, I was responsible for:

Accurate Food Database
Creating a reliable food database with accurate nutritional information was essential for the app's success. I addressed this by:
- Integrating with established nutritional databases
- Creating a user contribution system with validation
Data Visualisation
Users needed clear, actionable insights from their tracking data. I created:
- Intuitive charts showing glucose trends alongside carb intake
- Dynamically updating charts to illustrate nutritional intake compared to nutrition goals

Coastal Brew Café is a concept website designed for a fictional seaside coffee shop and restaurant. This project was created to demonstrate my abilities in designing and building engaging, functional websites for hospitality businesses.
The site features a responsive design, online menu with filtering options, and location-based features to attract locals and tourists alike.
My Role
I handled all aspects of this project, including:

Technologies Used
Design Approach
For Coastal Brew Café, I wanted to create a digital experience that captured the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of a seaside café while providing practical functionality for customers and staff.
Coastal-Inspired Design
The colour palette, typography, and imagery were carefully selected to evoke the coastal setting, with blues, sandy neutrals, and weathered wood textures creating a cohesive visual identity.
Performance Optimisation
Despite featuring high-quality food photography, the site maintains fast loading times through image optimisation, lazy loading, and efficient code structure.
Business-Focused Features
Every feature was designed with the café's business goals in mind—increasing reservations, promoting special events, and streamlining takeaway orders to maximise revenue and customer satisfaction.
